Matthew Kawiak, D. Min.

During his 30-plus years of clinical practice, Dr. Kawiak has insightfully addressed a broad array of counseling needs, including substance abuse, family and marriage counseling, post traumatic stress, workplace violence, and critical incident debriefings. He holds a Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy, a Master of Social Work, and is both a New York State Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) and Chemical and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAS).

Listed with over 100 EAP providers as a critical incident responder, Dr. Kawiak has been in high demand to meet with affected employees and their families following bank robberies, unexpected co-worker deaths (both accidents and suicides), and reduction-in-force announcements. Following the 9/11 attacks he spent several weeks in New York City counseling airline employees and served as Director of Healthcare for JetBlue Airlines for two years following the incident.

In his leisure time, “Dr. Matt” enjoys horseback riding and travel, and has captured many of North America’s natural wonders and wild animals on film as an accomplished wildlife and landscape photographer. He makes his home in a suburb of Rochester, NY.
